Analysis of the observer role

For motorists to perform their driving tasks safely, visual information regarding the road's course, objects on the road, other vehicles, the general environment and the vehicles instruments is paramount. The motorist is supported in this task by factors such as road markings and hindered by visual impairments such as blinding light sources and environments that provide insufficient contrast. Observation influences decision-making and lead to outcomes, that have to be observed in turn.

By entering base visual information and threats to visual perception into a matrix and comparing this data to a range of different visual tasks, we can create an analysis matrix. This analysis matrix provides an overview of all the essential studies that are required to set objective criteria measuring human perception. The matrix will be the foundation for the subsequent phases of the project.
